Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Marrakech, heading towards the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Along the way, enjoy stunning landscapes and traditional Berber villages.
Our first major stop is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved fortified villages in Morocco. This kasbah has served as a backdrop for numerous movies, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring its ancient alleys, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Here, you can visit Taourirt Kasbah and, if time allows, the Atlas Film Studios (optional).
After lunch (not included), we drive through the Roses Valley and along the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs, passing through picturesque Berber villages before reaching Dades Valley. You’ll check into a comfortable hotel or riad, where you’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga (Night in Desert Camp)
After breakfast, we drive through the Dades Gorges, stopping for panoramic views of its rugged landscapes. Our journey then continues to Todra Gorge, an awe-inspiring canyon with 300m-high rock walls, ideal for walking and photography.
We then pass through the desert towns of Erfoud and Rissani, known for their fossil workshops and vibrant markets. By late afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where your camel trekking experience begins.
Led by an experienced guide, you’ll ride camels across the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi dunes, witnessing a breathtaking sunset in the Sahara. Upon arrival at your luxury desert camp, you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and shown to your beautifully decorated tent.
Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by a Berber music performance around the campfire. Spend the night under the endless desert sky, filled with countless stars.
Day 3: Explore Merzouga – Nomadic Experience – Night in Hotel
Wake up early to admire the stunning sunrise over the dunes, a truly magical moment. After breakfast, you have the option to explore the Sahara Desert in different ways:
ATV quad biking or 4×4 off-road excursion across the dunes (optional, not included)
Visit the Khamlia Village, home to the Gnawa people, where you can enjoy traditional music and learn about their unique culture.
Explore the Nomadic lifestyle by visiting a local Berber family, where you can experience their hospitality and traditions.
After a day of exploration, return to Merzouga village, where you will check into a comfortable hotel for the night. Enjoy dinner and relax before your return journey the next day.
Day 4: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we leave the desert and begin our journey back to Marrakech. Instead of retracing the same route, we take the scenic path through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, known for its lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs.
We stop in Agdz, a charming town nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, before continuing to Ouarzazate. Here, you’ll have time for lunch (not included) and a final opportunity to explore before crossing the High Atlas Mountains again.
By late evening, we arrive in Marrakech, where your unforgettable 4-day desert adventure concludes.
